Toyota India has announced that it has provided a fleet of 55 Camry Hybrid sedans for transportation of the African Nation delegation at the 3rd India Africa Forum Summit (IAFS). Just so you know, the 3rd India Africa Forum Summit (IAFS) started in New Delhi from October 26, 2015 and would go on till October 29, 2015. The Summit in question here is being attended by leaders and diplomats from the African Nations.
Toyota, the Japanese automaker, is supporting the 4-day long conference by providing the highest number of its green cars for the event. "With India’s growing orientation towards pollution control and environment-friendly technology, the Camry Hybrid vehicles can truly have a positive impact if they are widely used", according to the company. The Camry Hybrid is the first ever locally manufactured strong hybrid vehicle. The car is also the first hybrid vehicle to qualify for the incentive provided by the Government under its Faster Adoption & Manufacturing of Electric cars (FAME). Toyota has sold more than 8 million hybrid vehicles across the world and India being the 9th country to manufacture Toyota hybrid globally.
Representatives from the 54 African nations are participating in the third edition of the India Africa Forum Summit which is aimed at intensifying India’s engagement with the continent and facilitating discussions on expanding trade ties in the areas of energy, healthcare, infrastructure, technology and innovation. A salutation to the age-old partnership between India and Africa and also an opportunity to push it to new heights, the IAFS has participation from leaders and diplomats of the highest levels.
