Audi India has shown a great improvement in sales in the month of May 2013. It managed to sell nearly seven hundred and ten cars in this month while last year it sold only four hundred and fiftyone cars. Thus in this month alone the growth in sales nearly fiftyseven and a half percent. The management of the company is very pleased with this growth. They have not only improved their sales figures from earlier years but also managed to reach the top level of luxury cars in the Indian car market.
A top executive from the management level feels that this phenomenal growth is due to the use of top of the art technology and innovative ideas by Audi. They believe in their slogan, ‘‘Vorsprung durch Technik”, he says. The Audi cars are more ‘sporty’ , highly sophisticated and come with a ‘progressive’ state of art technology. One reason for this sales growth, he also says that they have a very strong ‘dealer network’ in India. They have a plan to expand the dealerwork further in India to cover not only metros but also ‘Lucknow and Bhubaneswar’ as well. They already have showrooms in the cities like ‘Raipur’, ‘Nagpur’ and ‘Bhopal’. This means the Audi network would eventually cover important urban centers in India. This would help the company to sell their cars to the prospective customers easily as they do not need to travel to metro cities to buy their luxury cars. The target sales figure for this year is ten thousand eight hundred vehicles, which they feel they would be able to achieve very easily, depening on their sales record in this year.
The cars introduced by Audi India are ‘Q5’ and also ‘R8’. This year this plan to introduce their new and ‘special’ model of ‘Audi A6’. With growth in dealership network and use of high techology and innovative ideas, Audi India are on the growth path this year.
