92 vehicles burnt to ashes on early Sunday morning in Pune

On the early Sunday morning around 91 vehicles were set ablaze by an unidentified man, CCTV footage revealed that he was seen cutting off the fuel lines of the vehicles and setting them on fire. 92 vehicles included 77 two-wheelers, 8 four-wheelers and 7 cycles. The housing societies and a Pizza Hut outlet in which the vehicles were burnt are located in a distance of 5kms on the Sinhagad area of Pune city.

This is not the first time when incident like this took place in the Pune city as earlier similar incident happened in Pune’s Kothrud, Dhankawdi and Pimpri-Chinchwad, but this is for the first time when vehicles were set abalze in such a huge number. While investigation is underprocess, CCTV footage revealed that a buffed up man in his thirties was seen cutting off the fuel lines on the motorcycles and setting them on fire.  The housing societies mainly Suryanagari housing society, Swaminarayan housing society, Akshay Glory society, Avdhoot Arcade society and Ram Heights society were targeted and also the 29 Pizza Hut’s motorcycles were burnt to ashes when the guard was in sleep. Based on the footage, sketch of suspected man has been generated and investigation is underway.
