Bajaj group donated a sum of Rs 10 crore to the Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund to help in rehabilitation of Nepal. A massive earthquake struck Nepal recently and many countries came together to help rebuild the country after the disaster. Bajaj group recently announced a contribution of Rs 10 crore to be done by them that will be routed through the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund of India.
Mr. Rakesh Sharma, President – International Business for Bajaj Auto Ltd. said, “Nepal has seen an unprecedented disaster. In this time of distress we stand by our friends in Nepal and this contribution is a small reaffirmation of our commitment to the people of Nepal. Through our distributor M/S HansrajHulaschand, we are also ensuring that immediate relief is provided to the affected people.”
Bajaj Auto is active in Nepal from last 20 years. Nepal is one of the most important countries for Bajaj Auto as they operate near 175 dealerships across the country that employs over 2000 people in Nepal. Bajaj group also donated a further sum of Rs 50 lakhs to an NGO group called SEWA that is known for their dedicated help towards needy & self-employed women workers in Nepal, mainly directed to its cluster at Konkhana.
Mr. Rakesh Sharma further added,” Nepal is a very important country for Bajaj Auto and we have been there for more than 20 years. We have over 3.5 lakh Bajaj motorcycles on the country’s roads. We are working with our consumers, dealers and technicians towards the quick repair of damaged vehicles so that people can be mobile once again.”
