ACMA emphasizes on Digitization of the Indian Auto Component Industry at the 3rd ACT Summit

The Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA), the apex body of the Auto Component Industry in India, has successfully hosted the third edition of the ACT Summit in Pune from 8th- 9th December, 2017.

The theme of this year’s ACT Summit was focused on “Digitizing Auto Component Industry in India- Creating SMART FACTORIES”. A number of eminent personalities and dignitaries such as Mr. Anant Geete, Hon’ble Union Minister for Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises, Government of India, Mr. Tom Flack, President & Chief Procurement Officer, TATA Motors Ltd., Mr NK Minda, President, ACMA, Mr Ram Venkataramani, Vice President, ACMA and Mr Srivats Ram, Chairman, ACT were present in the summit.

The ACMA Centre for Technology (ACT) Summit congregated national and international experts in the field of Industry 4.0 who presented and exhibited case studies on the benefits of automation and digitalisation. 

Alongside the Summit, the ACMA annual Awards were presented, which is the most desirous recognitions of the Auto Component Industry. 57 companies were awarded for their contribution and excellence in the following categories – Technology-Product Innovation, Technology-Process Innovation, Quality and Productivity, Manufacturing, Human Resources, Supplier Development, Export, HSE (Health, Safety and Environment), Small Category Awards, Business Growth, Digitization, Resource Optimization, Make in India and Best ACMA Company Of The Year.

With an aim to innovate Smart Manufacturing Solutions and Digitization in the auto industry, some analytical sessions were conducted at the event by eminent industry luminaries. The key focus of the incisive sessions was to promote sustainable manufacturing and to make India a world-class automotive manufacturing hub.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Mr. Anant Geete, Hon’ble Minister for Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises, Government of India said, “I appreciate the unparalleled efforts put in by the ACMA Centre for Technology (ACT) in facilitating the adoption of international best practices in the auto component industry. I congratulate ACMA on their efforts to drive the industry forward in a responsible manner and assure that the government will extend full support to ACMA”
