ACMA organises ‘Tech Expo’ for Indian auto component companies in the U.S

Snapshot: The first-of-its-kind initiative saw participation from 20 auto component manufacturing companies along with five global OEMs.

The Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA) organised a first-of-its-kind ‘Tech Expo’ that saw participation of 20 auto component manufacturing companies with five global OEMs in the USA with an objective to showcase the growing capabilities of the Indian auto component industry. 

Supported by Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, the Tech Expo was spread over a period of five days, which was organised with the support from companies like Ford, Fiat Chrysler, Cummins, Kohler, Polaris and a few tier I companies from in and around of Indianapolis. Overall, more than 800 visitors flocked the event, along with a team of 32 delegates from 20 member companies.

Commenting on the occasion Mr. Harish Lakshman, president of ACMA said, “With an initiative of this kind we wish to strengthen our relationship and enhance business opportunities with the OEMs from different countries. The expo has received an encouraging response from the participating OEMs and we wish to plan more such expo’s to harness growth opportunities across Industries.”

The initiative was conceptualised keeping in mind the need of International Purchase Officers (IPOs) who have been looking for innovative and cost effective procurement solutions. The forum provided the right platform to the Indian auto component manufacturers that have been enhancing their capabilities in R&D, engineering, design and development capabilities to meet the expectations of global OEMs. This expo facilitated direct interaction between OEMs and Tier I manufacturers.
