Jeep has digitally revealed the next-generation 2018 Wranger SUV ahead of its much anticipated global debut at the 2017 LA Auto Show on 29 November, 2017. The all-new Jeep Wrangler would go on sale in the United States in Q1 2018, while an India launch could take in 2019. The production for the right-hand-drive models would, apparently, start in June 2018 which leds to its introduction in the Indian market almost a year later. As per a leaked order guide, 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited would be offered in three grades: Sport, Sahara and Rubicon.
Going by the released images, it is certain that fourth-gen Wrangler SUV would come in both 2-door and 4-door versions. Besides this, the company would offer a plethora of configurations comprising of different door, top and windshield combinations. The new Wrangler has retained the traditional styling elements such as boxy design, circular headlights, keystone-shaped grille, square-shaped windows, trapezoidal fenders and square tail lamps. Since its a new-generation SUV, there are several updates as well in form of new headlamp graphics, LED DRLs with turn signals on the fenders and front grille with substantially backward tilting upper portion. The doors are still ordinary but beltline is tweaked to come up with contemporary appearance.
As for the Rubicon model, it is visible that the A-pillar is now fixed while their is a separate provision for windshield folding. Mechanically, all the three variants - Sport, Sahara and Rubicon - would be powered by the 3.6L V6 VVT petrol engine as standard, while the 2.0L 4-cylinder petrol and 3.0L V6 diesel engines would be introduced at a later stage. The 2018 Jeep Wrangler would come with improved aerodynamics and a convenient fold-down windscreen for off-road purists. The SUV would be "loaded with more safety features and advanced technology than ever before".
