All-New Audi A4 launched at Rs 38.10 lakh

German luxury marque, Audi launched the facelift version of the mid-size sedan A4 starting at Rs 38.10 lakh in the country. Build on Volkswagen’s MLB Evo platform, the Audi A4 sedan facelift is 95 kg lighter than its predecessor. The Audi A4 30 TFSI has been introduced in two variants - Premium Plus and Technolgoy, where aforementioned price is of the Premium Plus version and the Technology variant has a price tag of Rs 41.20 lakh (All Prices, Ex showroom, Delhi).

During the launch, Mr Joe King, Head, Audi India said, “The all-new Audi A4 is a fascinating synthesis of technology and esthetics. All the technology in the brand’s bestselling family has been redeveloped so that it yet again defines the benchmark in the segment. Light weight and more powerful, it is more than just a car: a mobile personality which fits perfectly with the individuality that our young customers show. The Audi A4 has been a leader across the world and the all-new Audi A4 is even more attractive, therefore I am sure it will bring in many new members to the Audi family.”

In terms of the exterior design, the all-new Audi A4 is inspired from the models like the TT, Q7, and the R8. Dimensionally, it measures 4.73 metres in overall length with a wheelbase of 2.82 metres, width of 1.84 metres and stands as tall as 1.43 metres. Some of the tweaks that the facelift model boasts are newly designed headlamps that gives a bold and aggressive appearance to the sedan, single-frame grille, also gets a sloping roofline, redesigned alloys and compact LED taillamps and not to forget matrix LED headlamps.

Inside, the cabin gets first fully digital dashboard with the Audi virtual cockpit displays two view - Classic and Progressive, and every information is in front of the driver starting from the navigation arrows to dynamic animations and the infotainment features, A fully digital combination instrument, features a 12.3 inch LCD screen, new Audi MMI display, touchpad in the rotary controller to to enter characters and zoom in and out, smartphone interface with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a phone box with wireless charging, intelligent free-text search function and AC controls with haptic feedback.

Under the skin, the all-new Audi A4 derive its power from a 1.4-litre four cylinder TFSI engine that come paired with the new 7-speed S tronic transmission system that is good crank out a maximum power of 148bhp. The new A4 can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in a mere 8.5 seconds before hitting a top speed of 210 kmph. Audi claims the car to return a fuel efficiency of 17.84kmpl, which is best in its class.
