Bajaj Auto has launched the 2019 Avenger Street 160 ABS at a starting price of Rs 82,253/- (all Ex-Showroom Delhi). The 160cc cruiser boasts of several cosmetic updates alongwith a few subtle mechanical upgrades. Bajaj Avenger Street 160 ABS will be available in two color schemes: Ebony Black and Spicy Red. Filling in the shoes of the Avenger 150, the new motorcycle is the most budget-friendly Avenger and it will compete with the Suzuki Intruder 155cc. The 2019 Bajaj Avenger Street 160 has already arrived at the company dealerships across the country.
Speaking on the launch of the new Avenger Street 160 with ABS, Mr. Narayan Sundararaman, Vice President (Marketing) – Motorcycles, Bajaj Auto Ltd said that Bajaj is the segment leader and it believes in the strategy of differentiation and category expansion. The 2019 Avenger 160 updated with ABS boasts of contemporary styling whilst retaining its classical roadster design. The discerning customer gets a definite step-up into the world of classic biking. This will open up choices to the entry-level sports customers. The new cruiser motorcycle gets new roadster-inspired headlamp with LED DRLs, low & long profile, new graphics with larger Insignia, rubberized rear grab and black alloy wheels.
Mechanically, the 2019 Bajaj Avenger Street 160 ABS is powered by a new 160.4cc engine which develops top power of 14bhp at 8500rpm and peak torque of 13.5Nm at 7000rpm. The engine is linked to a 5-speed gearbox. The cruiser now has an improved power to weight ratio of 103.3 PS/Ton as compared to Avenger 150's 98 PS/Ton. The braking duties are done by 260mm disc at front while there is drum brake at rear alongwith a single channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). The motorcycle has a ground clearance of 177mm with low slung seat and unique extended footrest position. The new Avenger Street 160 has a kerb weight of 150 kgs with a fuel tank capacity of 13 litres.
