Honda Cars India is ready to roll out the new Civic sedan in Indian market and ahead of its commercial launch the car has been showcased at 2018 Delhi Auto Expo, where it caught everyone’s attention. The new Civic will mark the re-entry of this well acclaimed sedan in India as the Japanese brand discontinued Civic here due to poor sales. However, with the customer preference changed, Honda is expecting good response with the new Civic.
The new Civic sedan comes wearing a very sharp and stylish look that gives a premium feel. It gets sleek and sharp LED headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights. Honda’s signature horizontal chrome bar sits between the headlamps, while the bumper too appears with a sculpted look that adds boldness to the front fascia of the new Civic.
It also gets sleek and crisp character lines, large 17-inch alloy wheels, subtly flared fenders, blackened glass area, turn indicator integrated ORVMs and a nicely curved roofline. At the back, it features boomerang shaped LED taillights, a lip spoiler, sculpted looking tailgate and a muscular bumper as well. Overall, the new Civic comes with a very stylish and appealing look.
Not only exterior, inside the cabin as well this sedan reflects premiumness. It gets a large 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system at centre console with Apple CarPlay, leather treatment on seats and upholstery, power assisted driver seat, dual-zone automatic climate control etc. On the safety front too, this sedan boasts a wide range of advanced features ensuring high level of protection for the occupants.
On the powertrain front, India-spec Honda Civic could get a 1.8-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.6-litre turbocharged diesel motor. The petrol unit can generate 139 bhp of peak power and 174 Nm of peak torque, while the diesel engine can kick out 118 bhp of peak power and 300 Nm of peak torque. Expect the sedan to be priced in competitive manner against the rivals like Hyundai Elantra, Toyota Corolla.
