Honda Cars India has registered a growth of 18 percent in monthly domestic sales of July 2015. The Japanese automaker retailed 18,606 units against the 15,709 units sold in July 2014. The launch of all-new Honda Jazz helped the company tremendously as it was the best-seller in July 2015 with 6676 units.
Speaking on the company’s performance Mr. Jnaneswar Sen, Sr. Vice President – Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd. said, “We are extremely delighted to receive a great consumer response for all new Jazz. We would like to thank our customers for the continuous support to all our models and are confident that we will continue to do well in respective segments.” Just so you know, Honda cumulatively sold 63,053 units during April – July’15 as against 56,427 units sold during the same period last year, marking a growth of 12%.
The Jazz's glorious outing was followed closely by City mid-sized sedan, which has been company's best seller for several months now. Honda sold 5180 units of City in July 2015, while the Amaze stood at third spot with 4589 units. However, Mobilio's dismal performance continued and the company sold a mere 909 units of the MPV in the month of July 2015. Even, Brio was ahead of the Mobilio as 1122 units of the hatchback were sold.
For those asking, it is being learnt that Honda would launch the BR-V crossover in Indian market next year to foray into the compact SUV segment and challenging the likes of Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, Hyundai Creta and Maruti S-Cross.
