Honda Cars India is ready to launch the all-new Jazz hatchback on 8th July, 2015 in the country. But prior to the official launch, the company has revealed that it has received an overwhelming response from the buyers for the hatch. All-new Honda Jazz has received over 2000 bookings across the nation, which indicates that its second innings in India is going to be smashing and it would give Hyundai Elite i20 some serious competition.
Honda Cars India sold a total of 18,380 units in June 2015 against 16,316 units in the corresponding month last year, registering a growth of 13 percent. Speaking on the company’s performance Mr. Jnaneswar Sen, Sr. Vice President – Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd. said, “We would like to thank our customers for the continuous support to all our models and are confident that we will continue to do well in respective segments. Currently, we are excited about the launch of the new Honda Jazz which we believe will help us make further inroads in the Indian market.” Additionally, the Japanese automaker sold 44,447 units during April – June ’15 as against 40,718 units sold during the same period last year, marking a growth of 9 percent.
Honda Jazz, for the first time ever, would be launched with a diesel engine. The diesel versions of the hatch would be powered by the company's 1.5-litre, four-cylinder i-DTEC engine which also come with Honda's every diesel vehicle in India. The Jazz would also be the first vehicle in its segment to have a touch-screen infotainment system. The petrol variants would get the 1.2-litre, four-cylinder i-VTEC engine with both manual as well as CVT transmissions. The range-topping variant would also get paddle shifters - once again a first-in-segment feature. The hatch can be booked at any authorized Honda dealership nationwide at a token amount of Rs. 51,000. With over 90 percent of local content, the Jazz is expected to be priced in a range of Rs. 5-8 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom).
