Hyundai is all set to make the comeback of its Santro moniker (Codenamed - AH2) on October 23, 2018 and prior to that, the Korean carmaker will unveil the new Santro hatchback on October 9. A new set of spy images of the new hatchback has surfaced online in a nearly undisguised form that reveal a lot about the styling of the new model.
The new Santro spotted, however, reveals the nose and the rear end of the car. The face of the model gets swept back headlamps with sharp cutting edges going all the way towards the front fenders, and the nose boasts of the Hyundai’s cascading grille, which also gets chrome surrounds and the plastic around the grille is further stretched to fog lamps. Though, it is hard to say more about its overall profile, but the new car will adorn a tall boy stance and the rear gets will come with a simple and basic design. On the inside, the latest spy shots confirm that the new model will get dual-tone interiors, along with a 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, conventional knob for climate control and reverse camera as well. The gear lever has been set a bit higher to make easy and comfortable shift during the city drives.
Mechanically, the all-new Hyundai Santro will draw its power from a 1.1-litre Epsilon petrol engine and will come paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT, that can return a good fuel efficiency of Rs 20.1kmpl. This new hatch will be the first one in the Hyundai’s family to come packed with an AMT.
