- Mahindra Funster EV to get four electric motors.
- It is expected to have power output of 313bhp with AWD system.
- Mahindra eXUV300 and eKUV100 will also be showcased at the event.
Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to unveil an all-new electric concept at the 2020 Auto Expo which begins from February 5. Being christened as 'Mahindra Funster EV', it is one of the four electric vehicles that the home-grown automaker is going to showcase at the event. Although, rumormill is abuzz that the Funster EV is the electric avatar of the company's flagship vehicle - the XUV500 - however, we can neither deny nor confirm this development at this stage.
Sources have hinted that Mahindra Funster EV will be a performance-based SUV with four electric motors at the helm of affairs. The four motors will be fixed on each of the four wheels thus making the SUV an all-wheel-drive with torque vectoring feature. The power to the electric motors will be supplied by a 60kWh battery pack. The SUV will have maximum power output of 313bhp while doing a 0-100kmph sprint in under 5 seconds. The driving range is not yet known but it could be somewhere around 300-400 kilometers, if it enters production at all and goes on sale.
Meanwhile, the other electric SUVs that will be gracing the Mahindra podium with eXUV300 and eKUV100. It will be showcased in the production-ready avatar as it will take on the Tata Nexon. For those asking, Tata Nexon was launched last week at a jaw-dropping price tag of Rs 14 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) and it will be hard for Mahindra to beat that pricing with the XUV 300 EV. Coming to the KUV 100 EV, it was already showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo but the company has made a few updates to make it an overall better package for the buyers.
