BMW owned British luxury car manufacturer Mini is all set to launch its new Countryman in the Indian market in May 2018. Ahead of the car’s scheduled launch in next month, the automaker has started receiving bookings for it. Production for the 2018 Mini Countryman has commenced at BMW’s Chennai facility.
In terms of styling, the 2018 Mini Countryman appears identical to its predecessor. The car is underpinned by the BMW UKL FWD architecture, which is also used by the new generation BMW X1 SUV. Thanks to the minor yet significant design updates, the new Mini Countryman appears more stylish and appealing compared to the predecessor. It boasts Mini’s signature chrome grille, LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights, fog lamps, LED taillights, skid plates at front and rear end. The chrome finished dual exhaust pipes enhances its style further along with revamped bumpers.
Not only exterior, the cabin of this new Countryman comes loaded with advanced high-end features. It gets a new 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, touch-controller at the centre console. The Harman Kardon audio system adds zing to the cabin. It also comes with 350-litre of boot space that can be expanded up to 1,170-litre. The car gets premium upholstery and seat materials, stylish LED lighting.
Globally, the Mini Countryman is sold with various powertrain options comprising both petrol and diesel units. The new model also gets a hybrid variant. The India-spec model could come available with a 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engine options. Expect the car to be priced aggressively in order to lure the buyers.
