Skoda India has launched the all-new Superb sedan at an introductory price of Rs. 22.68 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Mumbai) in the country. For the first time, the range-topping Laurin & Klement variant is also being offered in India. Just so you know, the all-new Skoda Superb had its world premiere in February 2015 in Prague, before heading to Geneva for its first public appearance last year in March.
Being based on the Volkswagen Group's latest MQB platform, the fourth-generation Skoda Superb is bigger and more spacious, while being 75 kgs lighter than its predecessor. The coupe-like exterior styling with several striking features such as Bi-Xenon headlights with Illuminated ‘Eyelashes’, sporty 17-inch alloy wheels, rear deck lid spoiler and crystal-cut tail lamps make it one of the best-looking sedans of the segment. The saloon has a huge boot capacity of 625 litres. Inside the cabin, there is Piano black decor with ambient lighting to provide a premium touch. As for features, it has 12-way adjustable front ventilated seats with programmable memory, 3-zone Climatronic A/C with rear vents, 12-Speakers Canton Sound System, 6.5-inch touch-screen infotainment system with SmartLink connectivity and Panoramic Sunroof as standard.
Talking about the safety features, the all-new Skoda Superb comes loaded with 8-airbags, driver fatigue detection system, rear view camera and auto hold parking brake. Mechanically, the saloon is introduced in both petrol and diesel guises. The petrol variants are powered by a 1.8L, 4-cylinder TSI engine which develops a top power of 177bhp. On the other hand, the diesel variants derive their power from the 2.0L, 4-cylinder TDI motor which churns out 174bhp of maximum power. Both the engines are linked to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox as standard.
