Toyota India has finally launched the all-new Camry Hybrid Electric at an introductory price of Rs 36.95 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, India) in the country. The eighth-gen sedan rides on Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) while having received 5-star safety rating from New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP). Powering the all-new Toyota Camry Hybrid Electric is the newly developed 2.5L 4-cylinder Dynamic Force Engine and fourth-generation Toyota Hybrid System with advanced Nickel-Metal-Hydride batteries.
Speaking of the 2019 Toyota Camry, it flaunts dusk-sensing LED projector headlamps with auto levelling, follow-me-home function and LED daytime running lights (DRLs). The sedan also gets LED front fog lamps and chrome treatment on door handles. The rear end is flanked by LED tail-lamps and LED fog lamps. Inside the cabin, it gets a beige leather upholstery as standard with a plethora of premium features such as Tilt and slide sunroof, Rear seats with power recline, 3-Zone automatic climate control, 10-way Power adjustable driver and passenger seat with Lumbar Support and Memory function, Ventilated front seats, Smart Entry with Start/Stop button, Multi-function steering wheel with cruise control, 10-inch heads up display, Wireless Smartphone charging and Rain sensing wipers etc. to name a few.
The new-gen Toyota Camry Hybrid also features a JBL audio system with 9-speakers along with the touchscreen infotainment system. The company has packed the sedan with several safety feature in form of 9 airbags, ABS with EBD and BA, Vehicle Stability and Traction Control, Parking Assist, Speed Sensing Auto Door Lock, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, ISOFIX child seats and Front 3-point ELR Seatbelt with Pre-tensioner and Force limiter. It is being powered by the 2.5L petrol engine and electric motor, while power being transmitted to the wheels via a CVT gearbox with paddle shifters. The engine develops a top power of 175bhp at 5700rpm and peak torque of 221Nm between 3600-5200rpm. The electric motor churns out 118bhp and 204Nm.
