The Japanese auto maker, Honda, had finally launched the paint new scheme on Dio scooter which was showcased at the AutoExpo 2016 for the first time. The new upgraded Dio costs the same as earlier, Rs 48,264 (Ex-showroom, Delhi). The new paint scheme on the Dio scooter is named at Matte Axis Grey and the scooter also received a 3D emblem logo.
The scooter is highly famous not only in India but overseas, Dio is Honda’s top most exported scooter that is shipped to countries like Colombia, Mexico, Sri Lanka and Nepal. The country is also working on to add more countries on the list to further expand its reach.
The scooter is available in now available in five colours namely Matte Axis Grey, Candy Palm Green, Jazzy Blue Metallic, Black and Sports Red. The scooter is equipped with Honda’s Combi-Brake System for safer riding experience and Honda Eco technology for better fuel efficiency.
It has a ground clearance of 158mm and weighs around 105 kgs which makes it a light and zipy scooter to ride on a dialy basis. It can accomodate not more than 5.3litres of fuel when its tank is filled to the brim. The company claims it reaches up to a maximum speed of 83km/hr. and comes with 130mm drum brakes unit both at the rear and front.
The new Dio continues to derive its power from the same 109cc air-cooled single cylinder engine that is also seen on Activa. This power mill churns out around 8bhp of maximum power and 8.77Nm of torque. The scooter competes directly against Yamaha Cygnus Ray Z, Suzuki Lets 110 and Hero Duet.
Speaking about the Dio, Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Sr VP, sales and marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd said, “In line with Honda strategy to delight our customers by refreshing our product portfolio regularly, the new Dio is Honda’s sixth new model of 2016. The new Matt Axis grey colour with value addition of the premium 3D emblem without any additional cost makes it a compelling proposition to own one.”
