Supercars! heard about Ferrari, Lamborghini and Mclaren? got excited? and If your answer is yes, then add one more not-much familiar name 'Arash' in your wish list as the British automaker has revealed its new supercar, the AF8. We have mentioned 'new' before the AF8 to suggest that the company has been in business since before. But its background is not so historical as its German and Italian nemesis'.

Incepted with its first ever product, the GT race car, in year 2002, the company was known as Farboud that time. After that, Farboud launched its first ever production car, the GTS in 2003 before handing over the designing rights to a new company named as Farbio. Then in 2006, Farboud got renamed into Arash and started developing a completely new supercar known as AF10. Interestingly, the GTS and AF 10 are two of the rarest breeds as only three examples were built of the former while the latter is more exclusive as there's only example of it which is presently showcased as a masterpiece at company's UK based headquarter.

Enough said, lets get back to the present moment and talk about the curious yet exuberant Arash AF8. Being a modern time supercar, the AF8 body is made up of carbon fiber along with combined use of light weight materials like steel, aluminium and, again, carbon fiber for chassis that has resulted it to weigh just 1200 kgs. Arguably, the front end styling is in simplistic form with less futuristic cues. The wing type headlamps are slightly identical to MP4-12C's head lights while the C-pillar flow looks quite similar to the Nissan GT-R. A 7.0-litre V8 mid-mounted engine produces enough power of 550 BHP and 640 Nm of torque to make the car achieve 0-100 kmph in just 3.5 seconds with a top whack of mind-blowing 320 kmph! The suspension is double wish bone setup with 19-inch forged aluminium wheels at front and 20-inch at rear.

More importantly, it is said that the painstaking development of previous models have climbed the Arash competencies enough to enrich the AF8 with equivalent level of quality and performance as Ferrari 458 Italia and Mclaren MP4-12C. The cabin setup is typical sportscar like with premium dark tone leather interiors adorned by prominent carbon fiber inserts over several elements. Bright double stitch in contrast leaves nothing seem imperfect inside the cockpit. There's no much digital drama and even the instrument console are simple analogue type with round shaped AC vents and touch screen infotainment system which both are aligned centrally at the dash.

Arash AF8 will make its public debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show and likely to be on sale around the end of 2014. However, it would be interesting to see how many of those creditworthy buyers will do appreciate the Arash over incomparable nameplates like Ferrari and Lamobrghini.
