Ashok Leyland, the Hinduja Group's flagship company, has rolled out the 2 Lakhth light commercial vehicle (LCV) from its Hosur production facility in Tamil Nadu. The company's first LCV Dost was launched in September 2011, while it achieved the production milestone of 1 Lakh units within three years in March 2015. Ashok Leyland, since its entry in the LCV segment, has gained the trust of 200,000 customers. Over the years, the company has gained trust of these customers by delivering on the promise of ‘Aapki Jeet, Hamari Jeet’.

Ashok Leyland recently bagged an order of Rs. 321 Crores from Institute of Road & Transport (IRT)!

Commenting on the milestone, Nitin Seth, president, LCV, Ashok Leyland, said: “Ashok Leyland LCVs have been segment defining by delivering customer experience like no other brand. Having 2,00,000 Ashok Leyland LCVs on road in about six years is a proof of trust that our customers have placed in us. “Even with our limited portfolio and no-discount policy, we have always maintained our market share. FY18 was very significant for us as we achieved our highest LCV sales of 43,441, a growth of 37 per cent over the previous year. Also in FY18, we launched Dost+, which added strength to the already existing Dost brand." Ashok Leyland Dost comes in two variants: Diesel RFS and CNG Refresh.

“We ended last financial year on a high note by crossing the 5000-mark per month for LCV sales for the first time since we got into the LCV business. For us, this milestone is the beginning of our next growth chapter where we focus on bringing in more LCV products in the market and by increasing the share of LCV exports by making left-hand drive vehicles to enter other markets,” added Seth. The Dost LCV is priced at Rs. 5.37 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Hosur) for the BS IV engine diesel variant and Rs. 6.25 Lakhs for the BS IV engine CNG variant. Both the variants boast of manual steering, while white being the standard exterior color.
