Andy Plamer, CEO, Aston Martin sometime back  confirmed that the iconic British car manufacturer is contemplating replacing the complete lineup of current products by 2020. And based on the recent spy shots, we already know that the famous Aston Martin DB9 is nearing the retirement. But the company won't let go the product so easily.

Infact, they are all set to launch the most powerful version of the high performance DB9 at the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed, called the DB9 GT. The DB9 GT has recently been unveiled and will make the public appearance at the aforementioned Goodwood Festival and going by the looks of the car, it's certainly not just a performance upgrade, but a lot more.

Starting from the exteriors, the DB9 GT gets a new black front splitter and a rear diffuser. The 20 inch all new wheels now sit on a 10-spoke alloys and gets the black anodized brake calipers just behind them. To create more drama, the aluminium fuel cap gets GT engraving on it and the customers can view a plethora of carbon fibre trims.

Inside the cabin too, Aston Martin has maintained a level of distinction to the original DB9. One can spot the luxurious fluted leather seats and an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel. Though the big DB9 GT upgrade is the latest Aston Martin's AMi II infotainment system. The system operated through a switch gets the revised menu structure that enables smooth working on the tech.

On the performance front, the DB9 GT gets the same 6.0-litre V12 engine tuned to produce extra 30 horsepower. The sportscar now produces massive output of 540 HP that combined with the six speed Touchtronic II gearbox do wonders. The luxury sportscar can do 0-100 kmph in under 4.4 second with a claimed top speed of 293 kmph.

Dr Andy Palmer, said, "Our process of constant improvement, development and refinement of our core sports cars never stops and the arrival of the remarkable DB9 GT, along with these important 16 Model Year updates and enhancements for the Vantage and Rapide S, all clearly demonstrate that."

He further elaborated - "Expanding the global appeal of Aston Martin is, in part, about offering our customers the widest possible choice and with the changes we're announcing today – alongside the ongoing development of our luxury bespoke personalisation service, Q by Aston Martin – I know we are better placed than ever to respond to our buyers' needs."

The Aston Martin DB9 GT can be purchased through order and will set you back by $199,950 in the U.S.A. We are waiting for further launches from the Aston Martin and especially the upcoming James Bond movie 'Spectre' to witness the magnanimous DB10.
