Aston Martin, the iconic British luxury car maker is known to make some of the most beautiful and exotic vehicles ever known to humanity. Carrying forward the tradition of well-sculpted cars, Aston Martin launched the Lagonda Taraf sedan, only for the Middle East markets a couple of months back. And now Aston Martin has decided to expand the reach of Lagonda Taraf and will sell it in the UK, Europe and South Africa markets.
As you may already know, Lagonda is not a new brand and Aston Martin used to sell a car with the same name a couple of decades ago. They were working on reviving the Lagonda brand name for quite a some time now, which they managed to fulfill by launching Lagonda Taraf in Dubai. This decision didn't go well with some of the prospective clients around the globe who were mesmerized by the looks of the car and hence Aston decided to expand the reach.
The expansion, which will start in EU-compliant markets will be offered both in left-hand and right-hand configurations. Though, the company is still skeptical about the demand and will produce only 200 units of this super-luxury car. The production will happen on the same assembly line where other exclusive cars from the British brand are built - the V12 Zagato, One-77 and the new Vulcan.
CEO, Dr Andy Palmer said: "Opening up the Lagonda Taraf to an increased number of customers around the world was a high priority for me as soon as I joined Aston Martin late last year. I wanted to be able to offer this exceptional saloon to the potential owners from around the globe who have been enquiring about it, and I'm very happy that we have been able to expand the Lagonda proposition."
The VH architecture based 6.0 litre V12 Supercar will not be offered in America for now, let alone India. There is no news of Lagonda being showcased at the Geneva Motorshow which is starting tomorrow, but we wouldn't we surprised if Aston does that!
