The more extreme, faster and nimbler avatar of the road-going GT3 Vantage racer has been revealed ahead of its world debut at the upcoming 2015 Geneva Motor Show. It’s called the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 and only 100 units of these hyperventilating beauties will make it on the road later this year. Apart from the Vantage GT3, the Aston Martin Vulcan will make its world debut in Geneva on 3rd March.
The track-focused monster with a street-legal soul has been housed with the same 600PS producing 6.0-litre V12 engine that has been upgraded with a new intake manifold and a torque tube that has been made from magnesium and a full titanium center-exit exhaust system. The re-worked engine combined with the extensive use of carbon fiber in the Vantage GT3 has brought its weight down by 100 kg to 1,565 kg as compared to the standard Vantage S. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-Speed automated manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
Other hardcore upgrades come in the form of the lower and wider stance of the luxury sportscar with broader tracks that sits on 19-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres. The prominent rear diffuser, front wings and front splitter makes sure that the Vantage GT3 hugs the corners like it is supposed to.
Step inside and you’ll be greeted with full alcantara dressing, while the carbon fiber theme continues on the seat shells and the center stack.
Dr Andy Palmer, CEO of Aston Martin remarked, “The Vantage GT3 Special Edition is an uncompromising example of our design and engineering expertise and I’m sure the 100 owners who secure one of these cars will savor every second behind the wheel; whether on the road or on the track.”
The potent Aston Martin Vantage GT3 is expected to go on sale in the third quarter of 2015.
