Ather Energy - the Bengaluru based EV manufacturing startup is all set to enter Chennai in the month of June this year. Ather Energy launched its first product in Bengaluru back in 2018. After developing its charging infrastructure called the Ather Grid in Bengaluru, the company is now in expansion mode. Ather Energy has also commenced its early access privileges for Chennai and rest of the nation as well.

Ravneet Phokela - Chief Business Officer - Ather Energy said, “The launch in Chennai is like a homecoming for Ather, as the organization was conceptualized at IIT Madras. We have already started receiving pre-order interest from enthusiasts on the website.” He Further added, “As we enter this exciting market, we are looking at extending the same go-to-market strategy that we employed in Bengaluru, starting with accepting pre-orders, setting up of the charging infrastructure and the Experience Center, followed by the delivery of vehicles.”
The early access privileges provide the buyers with pre-bookings, invitation to special test rides, events and priority delivery options. Ather Energy will introduce both of its scooter, 340and 450 in Chennai and will work towards establishing its charging infrastructure - the Ather Grid. Ather Grid Bengaluru consists of 31 charging points at 24 consumer-friendly locations, including cafe, malls and gyms.

For the update, Ather Energy signed MoU with Godrej Nature's Basket to install charging stations at Nature's Basket outlets in Bengaluru. Ather Energy also commenced its lease program in Chennai. The Ather Grid will provide safe and fast charging to not just its products but also the EVs of other brands.
