Audi India has launched A3 Cabriolet in the country at a sticker price of Rs. 44.75 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi). It is the first compact luxury convertible car to have been launched in India. This 4-seater roof-top version is almost identical to the regular A3 sedan in terms of the interiors. The most striking feature of the Audi A3 Cabriolet is its fabric hood which opens and closes in a sub 18-seconds time up to a speed of 50kmph.
Talking about the exterior features, it appears quite similar to the sedan version except for its fabric hood which can be opened. It flaunts stylish bi-xenon headlamps with LED daytime running lights and LED taillamps. In addition, it also has TT inspired jet turbine design air vents with spot/diffuse function. Inside the cabin, it boasts 4-spoke multi-functional leather wrapped steering wheel, Audi sound system, Dual zone air conditioning system with sun position sensor, Milano leather seats, Cruise contol etc. as standard feature. The company has also provided several optional features for the buyers in form of Bang & Olufsen sound system, Front sports seats, MMI navigation with MMI touch, and paddle shifters on the steering wheel.
Under the bonnet, the A3 Cabriolet carries a 1.8L TFSI petrol motor which churns out a maximum power of 177 bhp. For the time being, it is being launched in petrol guise only. The aforesaid engine is coupled with a seven-speed S-tronic dual clutch automatic transmission which propels the convertible to touch the 100kmph mark from standstill in a mere 7.8 seconds, while clocking a top speed of 242kmph. Audi India would sell the A3 Cabriolet in the country via CBU route.
