Audi India has silently introduced a new trim in its A4 saloon line-up. Being christened as the "Premium Sport", this new mid-level trim rests between the Technology pack variant and Premium variant. Being available in diesel guise only, it is being priced at Rs. 39.95 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Mumbai). This new variant boasts multiple cosmetic changes both outside as well as inside as compared to the standard A4 variants. However, mechanically, it is the same altogether and no tweaks are made.

Talking about the exteriors of the Audi A4 Premium Sport, it flaunts an all-new design of 20-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels. Also, there is a redesigned front bumper with chin to distinguish it from the existing A4 variants. The rear end and side profile are carried over from the standard A4 range and there is no other modification or addition. Inside the cabin, the Premium Sport grade has interiors done in an all black shade as compared to the dual tone interior layout seen in the standard A4 variants. Additionally, there is a carbon-black styling package available with this variant which includes black wing mirrors, window sills and a black door moulding. A4 Premium Sport variant is being offered in two chic colors - Red and White.

Under the hood, the Premium Sport variant comes loaded with the 2.0L TDI motor which generates a maximum power output of 174 bhp at 4200 rpm and peak torque performance of 380Nm at 1750–2500 rpm. It is coupled with a Multitronic® automatic transmission which transmits the power to the front wheels of the sedan. A4 is the Audi's highest selling model in the country and it faces a stiff competition from its German foes in form of BMW 3-Series and Mercedes-Benz C Class. The company has introduced this new variant at a time when Mercedes-Benz is all set to launch the new C-Class in the country a week later.
