Audi will bring its fourth-gen A8 L SUV to India.
Bookings for the model are open across Audi dealerships in India.
The SUV will get some India-specific tech.
The fourth-generation Audi A8 L is likely to be launched in India by the end of 2019. Company officials confirmed the same at the inauguration of its new dealership in Gurugram. Interestingly, bookings for Audi’s flagship SUV are open across authorized dealerships. That said, the model has already bagged some pre-orders ahead of its launch.
In India, the Audi A8 L is expected to be available in the long-wheelbase version. In terms of proportions, the SUV measures 5,302 mm long, 1,488 mm high and 1,945 mm wide. The SUV underpins Volkswagen Group’s versatile MLB Evo platform and gets copious changes opposed to its predecessor.
Visually, the A8 features a new hexagonal grille, HD Matrix headlamps with LED units and OLED tail-lamps that are connected through a bold bar. Inside the cabin, it packs Audi’s Virtual Cockpit instrument cluster display along with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
There are a couple of other digitalized tech and some India-specific features. The India-spec model could come with the 3.0L petrol or diesel engine along with the mild-hybrid tech.
