The Audi quattro Cup is back again with its Indian leg. The world’s biggest amateur golf tournament series brings its 12th season to Bhubaneswar Golf Club and Audi Bhubaneswar will play host to the 2019 season opener. This Audi event is expected to attract over 750 amateur and budding golfers to rival for the top spot at the India finals.

The Audi quattro Cup over the years has grown to be the most respected and premier corporate golf events, which will involve golfers from across India, who will pit against each other in the tournament commencing today.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Rahil Ansari, Head of Audi India, said “With a constant focus on leveraging sport, performance and customer engagement, Audi India continuously strives towards enriching the customer experience at every single touchpoint.  Audi quattro Cup provides a perfect platform to stay connected with the Audi fans and customers in India. Audi has been committed to the sport of golf, which stands for precision and technique and truly embodies Audi's philosophy of ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’ for more than two and a half decades now. The Audi quattro Cup in India has become a great platform for young minded, successful entrepreneurs and professionals to not only enjoy competitive golf but to also network with each other. This year we move into the 12th year of celebrating the growing fascination for the amateur golf sporting events in India”.

The Indian leg of this coveted Audi golf tournament will be played on a Team Stableford format, in which the teams will be drawn randomly after the round. The individual handicaps will be taken from the Single Peoria system and the leading team with the best overall score from each leg will qualify for the finals in India in March 2019. The winner will qualify to compete in the World Finals in late 2019 where the Audi India winners were among the top teams globally within the last years.

Mr Ansari concluded, “I wish all the participants the best of success and I’m hopeful that the winning team from India will have a realistic chance to get the global trophy in 2019”.

After the first edition of the Audi quattro Cup is held in Bhubaneswar, it will then travel to Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Mumbai and Delhi/NCR.

Since 1991, the Audi quattro Cup is organized annually and the year 2019 is being celebrated as its 29th anniversary worldwide.
