Moreover, there are body and paints shops in the premises as well.
"Audi India has taken a lead in expanding its presence in the Northeast, which has a high potential for luxury cars. Our approach will be conservative as the market here is evolving. We are looking at selling 100 to 150 vehicles in a year to start with. As it is, 31 cars from all segments have been sold since the showroom started operating in November," Joe King, the head of Audi India. The other Audi dealerships in the East are in Calcutta, which sells over 850 cars every year (the highest in the East), Ranchi and Bhubaneswar. Brand ambassador and Bollywood stalwart Ileana D'Cruz, who was also present during the inauguration, said, "I have been associated with Audi for a really long time. I love the car because it's a perfect mix of comfort, practicality and luxury."
"We have understood the after-sales needs of buyers who earlier used to procure cars from outside the Northeast before coming up with the outlet here. The workshop has a capacity to service six cars per day. We will arrange for free transportation of cars that break down in other towns of the Northeast to the outlet here. We also have a provision for providing a vehicle for the stop-gap period till the car is repaired," King said. Audi Guwahati chairman Pulak Goswami said, "It was a dream project. We will be committed to deliver world class facility and service to our customers here. The feedback over the past four months has been very positive, something that I did not anticipate when the offer for a dealership came from Audi in May 2013. Already, we have sold 12 in the first three weeks of this month itself."
