Audi is set to launch the second generation of the A5 in India. According to the reports, the car is expected to reach Indian shores by the end of this year. The German automaker has recently completed ten years in the country and is in celebratory mode.
Rahil Ansari, Head, Audi India has also hinted that the company is planning to showcase ten new cars in the Indian auto market this year, which means more upcoming launches are around the corner.
The India-spec model will be offered in three different body styles- Coupe, Cabriolet, and Sportback. It will share its styling features from the new A4 and will get a dynamic look. It features a single frame grille at the front, which is flatter and wider than the previous generation model and looks more aggressive. The stretched wheelbase and short overhangs give the four-seater car a dynamic appearance. The shoulder line offers multiple creases to look more appealing, while the rear-end features LED tail lights and a new bumper with rear diffuser.
The cabin of the car looks premium and familiar to the new A4 sedan, however, it will get some updates in the feature list with latest accessories and equipment for the comfort and convenience of the buyers. It is also likely to get a spacious cabin with comfortable seats for the occupants.
Audi A5 is already on sale in the international markets and features two petrol and three diesel engines with the maximum power output ranging between 190 bhp and 286 bhp, while the Indian-spec model is also expected to receive the 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engine option.
The India-bound A5 is expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 55 lakh to Rs. 60 lakh (ex-showroom). The Cabriolet variant of A5 will compete with the Mercedes C300 Cabriolet, while the Coupe and the Sportback will have no rival in the segment.
