Interesting in driving an Audi but can't afford one? Well, don't be disheartened. While many car lease services are providing high-end cars for self-drive usage, Audi has come up with more upmarket and customized service called the Audi on Demand Program. Launched initially in San Francisco, U.S.A, the service revolves around an iPhone app that enables customers to call a new Audi.

A client can order a new car from anywhere one day to 28 days in a row. One can only order the car through a special app designed for this purpose. A personal concierge will deliver the car anywhere you want from the office to the parking lot to the driveway. And if you are not available, the concierge will leave the car locked and you can unlock it and drive away using the app.

Apart from the dropping the car, the concierge will also help in setting up the audio and navigation systems according to the customer's preferences. As for the models to choose from, Audi has decided to provide almost all cars for this service. One can choose from A4 sedan to R8 sportscar, according to need. Apart from this, customers can also order for a child seat or a ski or a bike rack.

If this was not enough, customers can actually select the color of the car they want to drive from the on-demand app and Audi will send the car with the same color. Like mentioned above, Audi has just launched this service in San Francisco for now and they will start the program in other American cities "in the coming years." Audi also announced that they will start a "micro-sharing" service as well as latest smartphone-enabled in-trunk delivery in collaboration with Amazon and DHL.

We are not sure if India is on the radar of Audi in the distant future, but Audi will surely find customers here considering the interest of young professionals who want to drive luxury cars. Lease services like Zoomcar is a big example which has become an overnight success after they started offering luxury cars like Mercedes A-Class and GLA Class for self-drive purposes.
