Audi’s entry level crossover, Audi Q2 was spotted today in Copenhagen this morning. The car made its world premiere just a week back under the glamorous spotlight of the Geneva International Motor Show. And we get a chance to show you how the Audi Q2 looks like in real life. It gets a refreshed body with sharp looks from the front giving a strong image is created by the high-mounted Singleframe grille in octagonal design as well as the large air inlets.
Speaking of the engine lineup, the Q2 will be offered with choices of five different engines. Starting with a turbocharged 1.0-litre three-cylinder TFSI engine dishing out 116 HP with 1.4-litre and 2.0-litre of displacement. In addition, two four-cylinder diesel engines will be available with 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre displacement with cranking outputs of 114 HP and 148 HP.
As an alternative to the six-speed manual transmission, Audi also offers the S tronic dual clutch transmission with seven speeds for all engines. In the 2.0 TFSI, a newly developed dual-clutch transmission is used which has a new type of oil supply and reduced friction.
The newest addition to the growing Q family will come as standard with a front-wheel drive layout, but the stronger engines will be able to work with Audi’s quattro setup. The engines are going to be paired to a six-speed manual gearbox and an optional dual-clutch seven-speed transmission.
In Europe, Audi Q2 will open booking by mid-2016 and will start deliveries this fall.
