As an honour to its endurance racing success, in which Audi R8 LMS won the 24 Hours Nürburgring on its debut, the German luxury carmaker unveiled Audi R8 Coupé V10 plus “selection 24h”, a special edition of the existing R8 Plus. Based on the Audi R8 Coupé V10 plus, the special edition is being built in a limited production run and only 24 examples of this edition will ever exist.
To make the owners feel more special, the special edition R8 V10 gets “R8 24h” logo on the sideblades, not only this, the front spoiler, the sideblades, the exterior mirror housings, the engine compartment cover, the rear wing and the diffuser are made from gloss-finish carbon fibre. The illuminated door sill trims are also made of gloss-finish carbon. They display the serial numbers 1 to 24 for each of the limited-edition cars. One more exclusive feature is the entry lights on the doors project the Audi R8 logo onto the road surface.
In terms of technical package, the “selection 24h” special edition comes with dynamic steering, the adaptive damper control system (Audi’s magnetic ride) and Audi laser lighting. It also wears an exclusive tricolour paint finish consisting of Suzuka grey as the base colour along with mythos black and Misano red highlights. The body of the Audi R8 Coupé V10 plus is built using multi-material construction principle that weighs a mere 200kg and has a dry weight of 1,454kg.
Under the hood, the R8 Coupé V10 plus “selection 24h” is powered packed with a 5.2-litre V10 mid-engine develops 602bhp and is linked with a dual-clutch 7-speed S-tronic automatic transmission, giving drive to Audi's newly developed quattro drive system. It can sprint from 0 - 100kmph sprint in just 3.2 seconds before topping out at 330kmph.
