Audi India has launched the new RS6 Avant Performance in the country at a price point of Rs 1. 65 Crore (ex-showroom). The new Audi RS6 Avant Performance is essentially a performance-bred station wagon and currently does not have a direct competitor in India. The ‘Performance’ in the name suggests increased power output. That said, the robust 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 petrol engine pumps out an additional 45 bhp and 50 Nm torque opposed to the regular one which belts out 552 bhp. With a boost in power, the Avant Performance version now puts out maximum power of 597 bhp and top torque of 750 Nm. It also reflects in its performance, with the acceleration time reduced by 0.2 seconds as against the regular version. That said, it sprints to 100 km/h from rest in just 3.9 seconds.
In addition, the all-new Audi RS6 Avant Performance gets an overboost function and comes paired to an eight-speed tiptronic automatic transmission. Power is fed to all four wheels through Audi’s Quattro All-Wheel Drive system which comes as a standard provision. Tailored for razor sharp performance, the new Audi RS6 Avant Performance, hits top speed of 250 km/h which further extends to 305 in the Dynamic Package.
In aesthetic terms, the Audi RS6 Avant Performance features contrast coloured front splitter, rear diffuser, side door mirrors and Quattro badging on the front grille. At side, it equips meaty 21.0-inch alloys. It also gets the RS sports exhaust, an adaptive air suspension set-up and deactivation function for reduced emissions and higher fuel economy.
Being a performance model, it weighs quite a bit at nearly two tonnes, though the heavy weight makes no difference to its performance. Packed with a plethora of comfort, safety and driver assistance features, the new Audi RS6 Avant Performance carries a hefty pricing and is one of its kind in the domestic market as of now.
