Perhaps one of the most interesting crossovers out there, the SQ5 TDI is now even more appealing as it has gained a “plus” version which adds more power. Underneath the hood it has retained the six-cylinder, 3.0-liter twin-turbo engine but it no longer produces 313 bhp and 650 Nm as Audi’s engineers fiddled around with the motor and managed to squeeze a generous 340 bhp and 700 Nm of torque.

The SQ5 TDI plus needs just 5.1 seconds to complete the 0-100 kmph task and it will keep on accelerating until the electronic top speed limiter will kick in at 250 kmph. These are some impressive power and performance figures, but let’s not forget that after all we are dealing with a diesel-powered car so it should still be efficient in terms of fuel economy. That’s exactly the case as Audi mentions their latest product from quattro GmbH will do 15 kmpl and emit 174 g/km of CO2.

Featuring a permanent AWD quattro setup, the SQ5 TDI plus has gained a rear axle-mounted sport differential and rides on 21-inch glossy black Audi Sport alloy wheels shod in 255/40 R21 tires. It also has an extended variant of the glossy black cosmetic kit which now also encompasses the mirrors, door handles, roof edge spoiler and the rear diffuser.

The interior cabin now hosts a sliding rear bench which boosts practicality while the door armrests have been wrapped around in leather. It comes fitted as standard with a new fine Nappa leather upholstery that has a silver diamond pattern to boost the model’s appeal even further.

Those who are not satisfied with the standard appearance of the Audi SQ5 TDI plus will be able to order an optional Audi exclusive macaw blue package that is going to be offered in a limited series of 100 pieces. It brings a macaw blue body paint, black fine Nappa leather sport seats that are adorned with body-colored stitching as seen on the selector lever gaiter, floor mats and on the steering wheel.

Audi is asking €67,700 (5 million INR) for this model at home in Germany and an additional €12,000 (886,800 INR) for the macaw blue exclusive kit.
