Just days after officially start taking bookings of its all new range of Bonneville retro classics, Triumph India has finally launched the bikes at the ongoing Auto Expo 2016 and the base model, the Bonneville Street Twin now retails at INR 6.90 Lakhs while the top of the line Bonneville T120 can be yours at INR 8.7 Lakhs, all prices Ex-Showroom Delhi.
The globally unveiled at EICMA 2015 Bonneville consisted of the all new bikes from the base 900cc to the top of the line 1200cc. The bikes saw all new grounds up design throughout the range with an edition of an all new base model by the name Bonneville Street Twin. While the Thruxton R prices are yet to be disclosed by Triumph India. Alongwith the launch of the highly anticipated Bonneville range, Triumph Motorcycle India has also launched a whopping 470+ accessory strong line up for the brand.
The Bonneville Street Twin is powered by a long stroke 900cc parallel twin engine that produces a brilliant 80Nm@3200rpm of peak torque and will be available in a choice of four colours namely, Cranberry Red, Aluminium Silver, Jet Black and Matt Black. While the Bonneville T120 wears a 1200cc Parallel Twin long stroke power plant that produces a peak torque rating of 105Nm@3100rpm. The T120 will be available in following choice of colours, Cranberry Red/Aluminium Silver, Lava Red, Jet Black and Jet Black/Pure White. While the top of the line Thruxton R wears the same 1200cc unit from the T120, however, the Thruxton R produces a better peak torque rating at 112Nm@3100rpm.
Also, the new engines in the Bonneville range offer class bettering torque figures with The Street Twin making 18% more torque than the previous Bonneville and Ducati Scrambler. The T120 is 54% up on its predecessor and 9% more than Harley-Davidson's Sportster Forty-Eight. While the most powerful engine in the new 2016 range of motorcycles, the Thruxton, claims 62% improvement on the previous model and 25% more than the Norton Cafe Racer.
On the features listing front the Bonneville Street Twin gets ABS, Ride by Wire, Traction Control, Slip Assist Clutch and Fingertip Control Button and its deliveries will begin from March 2016 onwards. The rest of the two bikes in the newly launched Bonneville range keeps all the features of the Street Twin and adds to its features such as Rider Modes, LED Rear Light and DRL Headlight. The Deliveries of the Bonneville T120 will begin in April 2016 for India, while the deliveries dates for the Thruxton R are scheduled from July 2016.
