It seems like Maruti is not taking wraps of the compact SUV S-Cross anytime soon. While we exclusively reported the images of S-Cross shot by Autoportal near Delhi-Gurgaon highway nearly three months back, we have again managed to take some spy shots of the same car with the same camouflage and the same number. We were hoping that Maruti could have atleast revealed a bit of glimpse three months down the line.
The compact SUV is already doing duty in European countries and come with a 5-star Euro NCAP ratings. The 5-star rating is achieved by adding 7-airbags and ESP to the Euro spec car. But will it come in India with the same safety standards, will be a matter of time. Other than the safety features, the car is expected to get the all new 4*4 system called Allgrip.
Under the hood, the car is expected to get a1.6-litre diesel engine, which will develop around 118bhp of power and 320Nm of torque and a 1.6-litre petrol motor with 118bhp of power and 156Nm of torque. While the latter will get a five-speed manual gearbox, the former will get a six-speed manual transmission. Suzuki is claiming that the fuel efficiency will be the best in the class.
While the other details are scarce for this upcoming SUV, word is that it will come under Rs 11 lakh bracket. Maruti along with S-Cross, will also launch the YRA premium hatchback, YBA compact SUV, XA Alpha compact SUV and other facelifted versions.
