Avan Motors, electric scooter maker is planning to launch six new electric scooters for the Indian market. The company plans to introduce one new model every six months starting from this year. This means, the company will introduce 6 new scooters over the period of 3 years. Adding to it, Avan Motors is aiming to sell around 1 lakh units of new electric scooters within 3 years.
The report further claims that the company will introduce all 6 scooters in the price range of Rs 45,000 - 80,000. Speaking to PTI, Hridesh Thakur, COO Avan Motors, said, "In the year 2019 we have a plan to sell around 25,000 units pan India and in the coming 2-3 years we are targeting to sell one lakh per annum depending upon market."
Avan Motors recently unveiled six new electric scooters. All these scooters were equipped with lithium ion batteries with top speed of up to 45kmph. Commenting on product strategy, Hridesh Thakur said, "We have plan of introducing one new product in every six month in price range of Rs 45,000 to Rs 80,000."
Avan Motors has recently introduce the Xero+ high speed model and is all set to launch another model this month. The company believes that the introduction of new scooter will touch Avan Motors' sales to over 1000 units per month in next 2 months. He further said that Avan Motors has in-house R&D team for product development. In fact, the company has collaborated with global technology providers from the UK and Europe to focus on futuristic and innovative products.
Avan Motors has a production unit at Hinjewadi in Pune. This manufacturing plant has a production capacity of 36,000 per annum on single-shift basis. Avan Motors has 25 touch points across India, and plans to reach 200 touch points by end of 2019.
