Bajaj Auto plans a collaboration venture with Triumph Motorcycles.
This partnership could take place by the end of the next year.
A business partnership, where each of the partners tries to cash in on the other’s positive aspects is not new in the industry. Hence, it should not surprise people that Bajaj Auto and Triumph Motorcycles join together to manufacture sub-500cc motorcycles. The British manufacturer, Triumph Motorcycles is a renowned name, whereas Bajaj Auto has one of the widest manufacturing facilities and dealership networks in India.
Though the two automobile giants have not yet formalised the contract, the signs of the partnership going live by the last quarter of 2020 are bright. As on date, we do not know the terms of the partnership. It could be limited to sharing technical knowledge, or it could end up manufacturing a brand new motorcycle.

The Executive Director of Bajaj Auto, Rakesh Sharma, has clarified that the groundwork for the partnership is done. The inking of the contract could be a formality any time.
One can expect the partnership to be similar to what Bajaj Auto has with KTM. Bajaj Auto holds a 48% stake in the company. However, the market believes that it will be a manufacturing contract between Bajaj Auto and Triumph Motorcycles.
Triumph Motorcycles has an assembly plant in operation at Manesar, Haryana. There are around 13 models of Triumph on sale in India today. In the future, one can see the Bajaj Chakan factory manufacturing Triumph motorcycles along with the Husqvarna and KTM models.
