Bajaj Auto reports a 9% increase in its motorcycle sales this July

Snapshot: BAL also reported a 50% increase in its exports which is the highest figure it has ever achieved in any month

Bajaj Auto Ltd. (BAL) reported selling 2,67,841 motorcycles in the month of June 2014 which is 9% more than 2,46,828 motorcycles it sold in July last year. It also achieved an all-time-high sales figure of 51,451 in the 'commercial vehicles' category which is almost 50% more than what it sold last July. Bajaj also impressed by exporting 50% more vehicles in July. Out of the overall sales figures, 1,69,755 units were exported which is again 50% more than what it exported in July 2013.

Looking at the numbers from a broader perspective, Bajaj sold 11,42,699 motorcycles in the months of April-July which is a 3% hike over the numbers sold last year for the same duration. Commercial vehicles' sales rose by 7% to 1,65,023 units whereas the exports rose by 29% to 6,11,722.
