With a rekindled zeal to snatch back the lost momentum, Bajaj Auto will be launching an all new range of commuter bikes in the Financial Year of 2015-16. Targeting to jump back from a 17% market share at present to a 23% market share in coming months, Bajaj Auto is leaving no stones unturned to make sure that it returns to its old dominant ways soon enough.
As per a report at Zigwheels.com, Bajaj Auto will launch this all new series of commuters in a price positioning in between the already selling, Platina and the Discover brands. The new bikes will have more premium features and better aesthetics than the Platina range and might see the 125cc mills from the Discover range doing duty in them also.
It is interesting to note that Bajaj Auto has been constantly losing market share to its competition, especially in last couple of years, mainly due to (what market believes) confused product positioning, but the major hit Bajaj has faced from its competition is in the scooter segment that has shown incredible growth in last couple of years and with no products in the category, has hurt Bajaj Auto's market more than anything else.
It is also worth noting that Bajaj has silently re-launched its CT100 in tier 3 cities recently and with these new upcoming launches Bajaj seems to found its Mojo back (unlike a certain manufacturer).
