Sometime ago, go we reported that Bajaj is readying to make 2015 their own in terms of launches and volumes. Going further on this regard along with the Pulsar 200SS, 150 Ns, a possible 180NS., Bajaj is said to be working on to bring back the Platina to the market again. Back then we talked about how, the Pune-based two and three wheeler maker has quite a few products up its sleeves for 2015, all of which are motorcycles. The product onslaught is aimed at improving the market share to 30% from the existing figure which is varying between 15-20% every month. The Pulsar 200 SS fully faired sportsbike and the Pulsar 150 NS are expected to be the first of the new products to be launched.
Now, the product onslaught was also going to come in the commuter segment, which has the largest of the volumes in the industry. TO take the fight to the established players an updated version of the Bajaj Platina is slated for a launch in February 2015. The new bike will receive new graphics, exhaust pipe, new colours and body panels while the engine remains essentially the same 99.27 cc air cooled motor which produces 8.2 PS of power at 7,500 rpm and 8.05 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm and gets a four speed gearbox to put its power on to the road.
While the new Platina was spied at various occasions, it is noticed to carry the same headlight and taillight design as well as the same turn signal indicators. The telescopic forks, drum brakes and alloys are also exactly the same as the outgoing 2014 model. There would be new colour schemes that would be available, but at this moment there are no indications on what they might be.
