- Bajaj Chetak comes with a driving range of 95 kilometers.
Bajaj Auto had launched the Chetak in an electric avatar last month in the country. The bookings commenced on January 15, 2020 in just a couple of cities - Pune & Bengaluru - at the select KTM dealerships. Now, the company has disclosed that it has received over 2,000 bookings for the electric scooter in just a time period of 15 days. Bajaj Chetak Electric was launched in two trim levels: Urbane (Rs 1 Lakh) and Premium (Rs 1.15 Lakhs).
Bajaj Chetak electric was launched with a complete metal body in six exterior colors. The Urbane can be availed in Citrus Rush and Cyber White colors while the Premium is offered in Velutto Rosso, Indigo Metallic, Hazelnut, and Brooklyn Black paint schemes. As for features, the Chetak electric scooter comes packed with LED headlamp, LCD instrument cluster with Bluetooth and keyless entry as standard. Bajaj Chetak Electric challenges the likes of Okinawa Praise and Ather 450X in the Indian market.
The Chetak electric draws power from a 3 kWh battery which comes with IP67 rating. The battery pack delivers top power of 4kW and peak torque of 16Nm, while it has a driving range of 95 kilometers after fully charged. The battery takes around five hours in full charging and it, sadly, misses out on a fast charging feature. Meanwhile, in other news, Bajaj Auto too has started updating its portfolio with BS6-compliant engines. Recently, the company launched the BS6 CT range and BS6 Platina range in the country. It is expected to launch more BS6-compliant motorcycles in the coming month.
