The Bajaj Chetak Electric will be getting a grand launch sometime very soon in the next couple of months. Recently, Bajaj had revealed its first EV, the Bajaj Chetak e-scooter. At the same time, it had announced a 3,000 km Chetak Electric Yatra by a group of 20 enthusiastic riders.
This group will introduce the Bajaj Chetak Electric across various cities before culminating in Pune on November 14, 2019. The unveiling of the Bajaj Chetak Electric will be held on that day in the city.
Bajaj Chetak Electric, powered by an electric motor capable of producing an output of 4KW, gets European styling to go with its traditional design. Initially, the vehicle will be on sale in Bengaluru and Pune through the KTM dealerships.
The electric scooter gets premium positioning, whereby the standard Bajaj dealerships do not get the opportunity of showcasing this vehicle. However, there are plans to upgrade the Bajaj dealerships to accommodate Chetak sales. As on date, it is uncertain whether the company will use KTM outlets to sell the scooter in other markets across India.
The launch will happen very soon early next year. As the showrooms start filling up with Bajaj Chetak EVs, one can expect the Bajaj Chetak Electric price to be in the region of Rs 1.40 lakhs (on-road price).
