The Indian motorized vehicle company Bajaj who usually dealt with two-wheelers and three-wheelers internationally, in 2010 announced that It would in cooperation with Nissan Auto and Renault build a Rupees 1,25,000 mini car primarily focused and targeted towards the Indian domestic market. The company set out to tackle the problems and challenges faced by the Indian middle class in traversing the busy over-crowded streets of Indian cities every day. While in close competition with Tata Nano, the Bajaj RE60 in fact does promise hope the middle-class families in India.

Bajaj unveiled its marvelous creation in 2012. It boasts a miraculously small size which could help travelers traverse through over-crowded and small places as easily as possible. The sheer size of the vehicle does compromise on some performance, but performance is not a factor when targeting the domestic market in India.

Bajaj has primarily been a major producer and a big player in the international two-wheeler market and has also been the largest player in the international three-wheeler market. Bajaj plans to unveil its first four-wheeler as something extraordinary.

In 2012, Bajaj revealed that the Bajaj RE60 has a marvelously high fuel efficiency which would help domestic road travelers travel long distance without having to worry about the rapidly fluctuating economy, rising inflation and prices of fuel. Though it not a fully electronic vehicle, Bajaj has put considerable effort in reducing carbon dioxide emissions which make this car even more environment friendly.

Overall, this car seems to be what the Indian domestic market is looking for with its incredibly low price and high performance in comparison. The question still prevails as to whether this car would be able to compete with the current Tata Nano.

Bajaj in 2013 revealed that the Bajaj RE60 was in production of about 5,000 units and is nearly ready launch into the Indian automobile market and is awaiting Governmental clearance. The company as well as the Indian automobile industry and consumer base have put in high hopes on how this car will help them satisfy their travelling needs. Bajaj has truly put In effort to innovate the all-new Bajaj RE60.
