Bajaj Pulsar 150NS and 180NS Spied On Test

Snapshot: Bajaj Pulsar 150NS and 180NS are the trimmed version of 200NS

The sub-200cc Bajaj Pulsar has been in discussions since a long time now. Recently, a test mule of sub-200cc Pulsar got spied on Mahrashtra roads that reveals about what company is contemplating for the Indian market. Last year, the company officials revealed their plan to launch a sub-200cc Pulsar, however, a close inspection to these images reveals that Bajaj is testing the both, Pulsar 150 and 180 in their naked avatar.

Both the test mules are identical to each other but application of different body parts like one has full-sized rear mud guard and single piece grab rails taken from the current generation Pulsar 150, while the latter has a metal number plate hanger and two piece grab rails that looks more premium and derived from the 200NS. The asymmetric models hint towards them being the Pulsar 150NS and Pulsar 180NS.

Apart from the contrasting appearance of these two test mules, lets talk about the other elements that either of the new sub-200 Pulsars will not get from their elder sibling. The new Pulsars will boast a single-piece seat, conventional swing arm instead of rectangular tubular section type, drum brake at rear and revised air-cooled power engines.

Bajaj Auto entered the naked bikes segment with its Pulsar 200NS in 2012. The positive response that 200NS has got from the market endangered the company to launch the former Pulsars in naked avatar. The pulsar 150 and 180 have not received any substantial changes since a long time now that brought them down as less-wanted models against their competitors. However, the launch of Pulsar 150NS and 180NS will certainly appeal more to the young buyers which might work as a catalyst to bloom the company's sales. The company is likely to debut both the new Pulsars at 2014 AutoExpo alongside the upcoming new Pulsar 200SS.
