We adore the pulsars, we really do, and it has been heart breaking to see Turkey and Columbia getting all the real action on the upcoming launch of the eagerly, desperately awaited fully faired Pulsar 200SS. We at one point in time had almost lost all faith that the bike will ever come to us. However, the following picture of a Pulsar 200SS in Yellow White dual tone is at a dealership in Pune is just what the Doctor ordered.
The Pulsar 200SS was recently spotted at a dealership in Pune alongside the Pulsar 200 NS models that were there on display, suggesting that the dealer dispatch for the fully-faired version of the NS has started. The launch could be expected within a month’s time. The desperately (we crossed the eagerly level a long time ago) awaited motorcycle was supposed to launched in the final quarter of 2014 had gotten delayed due to unknown reasons, while it was constantly seen in the wild undergoing testing, not just in India bt in global markets of Bajaj too.
The instrument cluster seems to have migrated from the exiting Pulsar 200 NS, while the rear diamond shaped taillight assembly is completely new and the short stout exhaust also sports a complete redesign. Once launched in India, the 23.52 PS (23.1 bhp) single-cylinder (similar to the current Pulsar 200 NS) Pulsar 200 SS would go head-to-head with the Hero Karizma R, the Honda CBR250R, the Yamaha R15 and KTM RC200. Although, the Pulsar would get an upper hand as it would feature ABS which the KTM lacks, and would be maintaining a slightly lower price but a premium European feel and more power would play in favour of the RC200.
