Bajaj Auto is currently busy in upgrading its motorcycle range with safety net. While the motorcycles below 125cc engine will receive CBS (Combi Braking System), the motorcycles above 125cc engine will be equipped with ABS system. Bajaj has also introduced the ABS variants of the Pulsar 220F, Pulsar 180 and Pulsar 150 Twin Disc Motorcycles. The company is now readying the ABS equipped versions of the Pulsar 150 Classic and NS160. Bajaj is also gearing up for the launch of the 2019 Dominar 400, which will receive mechanical as well as visual upgrades.
The 2019 Bajaj Pulsar NS160 and 150 Classic will be equipped with single-channel ABS system. It will also receive the rear-wheel lift protection sensor, which will further enhance the safety while panic braking. Adding to it, the single channel ABS will help automakers to curb pricing.
The addition of single-channel ABS will increase the prices of the motorcycles by Rs 6,000-7,000. While the NS160 is currently priced at Rs 85,690, the Pulsar 150 Classic is tagged at Rs 76,800. The ABS equipped models are expected to cost Rs 92,000 and Rs 83,000 for NS160 and Classic 150 respectively.
Not just ABS, the motorcycles will also get new body graphics to offer fresh feel. The Pulsar 150 Classic is powered by a 149cc 4-stroke, twin-spark, air-cooled, DTS-i engine that produces 14PS of power at 8,000rpm and 13.4Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. It is paired to a 5-speed gearbox. On the flip side, the Bajaj Pulsar NS160 gets a 160.3cc, 4-stroke, SOHC 4-Valve, Oil-Cooled DTS-i engine. Paired to a 5-speed gearbox, this engine produces 15.5PS of power at 8,500rpm and 14.6Nm of torque at 6,500rpm.
