It was the last Auto Expo when our home grown company, Bajaj decided to come to the center stage with their latest and brightest, and no it was not any two-wheeler, which they were displaying. The greatness with which Bajaj displayed their only product at the Expo was awe-inspiring indeed! Maybe this was something, Bajaj has been has been working upon since a long time! Well, no prizes for the correct guessers, we are talking about the Bajaj RE60, the Quad-vehicle. Unveiled to the world, just before the AutoExpo, Bajaj RE60 did not gather too much attention when it was put on display at the Expo. But with constant sightings of the test mule of the RE60, the launch does not seems far away.

Designed with an aim to replace all the three-wheeler public carriers, the RE60 is powered by a motorcycle grade 200cc DTS-i engine. Even though Bajaj has kept the power figures a secret, they mentioned that the RE60 will return a good 35km to a liter and the top speed will be around 70 km/h.

Through the pictures it can be seen that the center console has been mounted on the dashboard and the gear lever is just beneath the console to save space.

In India, the strict government rules does not allow manufacturers to bring quadricycles, it remains unclear if the government has cleared it yet. In last statement, it was revealed that quads would remain banned from using the highways and will be sold only as commercial vehicles. It seems Bajaj has taken the word revolutionize very seriously and is working to make things better for the country.
