Earlier this year the Bajaj V15 was spotted testing on the Malaysian roads which gave a hint regarding the company's plan to enter the Malaysian market. Following the successful testing phase, the Bajaj V15, Pulsar NS200 and the Pulsar RS200 have made an official entry into in the Malaysian market. Bajaj has launched these bikes partnership with Modena, a Malaysian motorcycle company.
All the newly launched Bajaj bikes will carry a badge of Modena, thus will be sold in the Malaysian market as the Modena V15, Pulsar NS200, and Pulsar RS200. This will also help to increase the sales volume, as the Modena is a renowned motorcycle company in Malaysia.
The Bajaj V15 will be sold as a basic commuter motorcycle in the Malaysian market, while the Pulsar range motorcycles have been launched as sporty two-wheelers for their aggressive look and design.
Mechanically, the Bajaj V15 gets a 149cc air cooled single cylinder DTS-i engine that can churn up a maximum power of 12 bhp and a peak torque of 12 Nm, while the Pulsar RS 200 and Pulsar NS 200 both are powered by a 200c liquid cooled single cylinder engine that generates a maximum power of 24.5 bhp and a peak torque of 18.6Nm. The Bajaj V15 equips an air-cooled mated to a five-speed gearbox, while the Pulsar range bikes run on a liquid-cooled engine, and are provided with a six-speed transmission.
The Bajaj V15 will be available at MYR 5989 (Rs 90,115). The Pulsar NS 200 is priced at MYR 9,222 (Rs 1.38 lakh) and the Pulsar RS 200 carries a price of MYR 11,342 (Rs 1.70 lakh). The company also plans to launch its flagship motorcycle, Bajaj Dominar 400 later this year.
